DAY 1 Vancouver > Portland Oregon
Set out to Washington in the morning. Lunch in the Tacoma Mall. Visit the award-winning International Rose Test Garden, home to 10,000 roses of over 500 spices. Then arrive in the Portland city center where you can explore the city at your pace.
DAY 2 Columbia River Gorge
In the morning head to the magnificent Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area. First, experience the power and beauty of nature up close with Multnomah Falls, the second tallest year-round waterfall in the US. Then come to the Maryhill Stonehenge, a replica of Stonehenge in England that was commissioned in the early twentieth century. Stay over in Pendleton.
DAY 3 Wallowa Lake > Baker City
Today we travel along the Hellgate Canyon, where you can see the basalt cliffs, snow-capped mountains and the canyon edge. From the scenic road to the Wallowa Lake, this deep and clear lake formed by the glacier is surrounded by the Wallowa mountains. Take the gondola up the hill to have a panoramic view of the lake. Stay over in Baker City.
DAY 4 Painted Hill > Smith Rock
Continue to the west and arrive at the Painted Hill. It’s named for the delicate layers of reds, yellows, golds and blacks in its soil. Later, visit the Smith Rock State Park and admire its sheer cliffs of tuff and basalt which are ideal for rock climbing of all difficulty levels. Stay over in Bend.
DAY 5 Crater Lake National Park
Visit a museum in Medford and learn about the natural history and wildlife in the area. In the afternoon, we explore the famous Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake inspires awe. Native Americans witnessed it form 7,700 years ago, when a violent eruption triggered the collapse of a towering volcano. Scientists marvel at its purity: fed by rain and snow, it’s the deepest lake in the USA and perhaps the most pristine on earth. We will stop at multiple viewpoints to enjoy this amazing view. Stay over in Medford.
DAY 6 Hellgate Jet Boat & Winston Wildlife Safari
In the morning experience the exciting Hellgate Jetboat along the Rogue River, a 3.5-hour scenic tour on the river where you have the chance of seeing some lovely birds and wildlife (include lunch). Take a safari in the 600-acre Winston Wildlife Zoo. You get to see over 500 kinds of precious wildlife along the ride. Stay over in Salem.
DAY 7 Tillamook Cheese Factory > 101 Road > Cannon Beach
Drive to the coast in the morning. Visit the famous Tillamook large cheese factory, where you can enjoy a wide variety of fresh cheese. Their ice cream is popular in the West Bank. Head north along the 101 road. Watch the beautiful scenery of the Pacific coast. After arriving at the Cannon Beach, enjoy the town spirit, lunch, sightseeing and shopping. Stroll along the beach, and take pictures of the ancient rock which stands on the beach for thousands of years. Return to Portland at night.
DAY 8 Downtown Seattle
Arrive in Seattle at noon. Walk around the Fishermen’s Terminal or try a clam chowder and fish & chips at one of the seafood restaurants. At the Pike’s Market, taste what’s in season at a farm stand. Listen to a Motown or bluegrass classic from buskers while marveling over the creativity of the goods in the crafts market. Stop at the duty-free on the way back to Vancouver.
